Ascension, Pentecost and Trinity Sundays. From Site: Apart from Christmas and Easter the other foundational New Testament event for the church is Jesus’ ascension and Pentecost. The liturgical calendar celebrates Ascension, Pentecost and the Trinity on three consecutive Sundays in May/June. Each of these give insight into how the Christian life should be lived—under the Lordship of Jesus who now sits at God’s right hand, through the new life of the Spirit, and as part of God’s triune community. The theme “Life from Above” picks up Jesus’ phrasing in John 3 when he talked to Nicodemus about the new birth; it also reflects Jesus’ position “above” in heaven; and our life which is lived in the Trinity. 10.101.2.193
